Thinking Ahead: Refining and Expanding our Practice for the Coming Decade
Interactive Conference Agenda
Framing the Day – May 21, 2012
The world is changing rapidly. In the first decade of the 21st century, the ways people communicate and engage have been transformed. Population growth and migration, environmental degradation, declining budgets, social connectivity and a shift in the balance of power among governments, the business sector and individuals are important trends shaping our world. This year marks 30 years since the first formative meeting of environmental mediators in Florissant, Colorado in 1982. Those of us in the field of environmental and public policy dispute resolution and collaboration must be flexible and responsive if we are to provide a substantial and positive impact on solving the complex public challenges facing this new world.
The 2012 ACR-EPP Section Conferencewill engage participants in an examination of current trends that influence our work, and strategic discussions about how to evolve our skill sets and shape our business practices to sustain and grow our field into the future with ever greater impact.
